Catedral Metropolitana do Rio de Janeiro

A high point of the visit was seeing the huge cathedral. It has four towering stained glass windows that meet in the shape of a cross several stories above our heads. Breathtaking! The floor of the cathedral seats 20,000 people.

The cathedral is open air; the walls are a series of windows that let the air in for circulation.

As we were walking out of the main entrance, we could see the cathedral's reflection in the glass building across the street. Maybe you can make out the shape that reminds me of an Aztec ruin.
