It's a big ocean out there!

I must have taken 30 pictures of myself before getting one I thought was good enough to share. This was taken on my verandah looking out onto nothing but water. Do you know how hard it is to take a picture of yourself? It might have been entertaining to watch but since there was NOBODY out there, I didn't feel too self-conscious. To complicate matters, most of the pictures either had my hair flying around - I don't know how fast we're going, but there's quite a breeze - or the horizon was crooked.

I was surprised by the color of the water. I expected a gray-blue, but it's more cobalt blue, perhaps reflecting the blue of the sky. We passed by some islands (all sizes), but I don't know which ones.

Today I learned my way around - some. Tonight was a formal dinner. I had halibut. Can you believe 2 fish nights for me in a row? After dinner was the Captain's Formal Reception and then we saw a musical variety show. What do Fidler on the Roof, Cabaret, A Chorus Line, My Fair Lady, The Wizard of Oz, Mame, Gigi, Hello Dolly, and about a hundred other movies have in common? Songs from all these movies were featured in the show called Million Dollar Musicals. Well done and quite entertaining.

We have 2 more days at sea before our first stop in St. Lucia in the West Indies. As I'm sitting here typing, I have the sliding door open and I can hear the waves and feel the very cool breeze coming in. Actually, the breeze reminds me of the mountains, just that cool and refreshing. We cross a time zone tonight.
